Located in Quandamooka Country in the Southern Moreton Bay between the Redlands coast and North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah), SMBI comprises Karragarra, Lamb (Nguderoo), Macleay (Alcheringa & Perulpa) and Russell (Canaipa) Islands.

It is a little piece of paradise that many of us call home.

Our little piece of paradise in the Quandamooka Coast…

Merely 18 minutes by water taxi or between 40 and 60 minutes by vehicle ferry from Redland Bay, the Southern Moreton Bay Islands really are a world apart.

The more relaxed pace of life over here tends to help relieve the stresses of modern life. It tends to allow us to enjoy life more. It tends to help us appreciate that the little things in life are as important as the big things.

Tingira Boat Club

Sundays, when the tide is right, are boating days, with the Club owning a number of Vagabonds and canoes, members can be seen enjoying the waters of Moreton Bay.

SMBI State Schools

The Macleay Island State School (Prep – 6) and the Russell Island State School (Kindy – 6) offer local, quality education with inclusion support for all SMBI primary-aged children. Each school has a P&C, and also a weekly Breakfast Club for all students.
