Hello! I’m Chara Caruthers I’m a senior level yoga teacher (E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance, Level 2 teacher Yoga Australia) , a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) and board certified Ayurvedic practitioner. I’ve been practicing yoga for more than 30 years and have been teaching yoga and yoga therapists for more than twelve years.
My husband and I are new to Macleay Island (been here about a year and a half) and I’m keen to get to know you and share some of what I do.
I’m aware that there are some beautiful yoga offerings on the islands, so I thought I’d share something different.
I will be offering an 8-week yoga class series entitled “Yoga for a Healthy Back” from JULY 18th – SEPT 5th
As a teacher and therapist the back is a common challenge. It’s an area of the body that so many of us struggle with for MANY different reasons (not all of them physical). My goal with this series will be to help you…

Build awareness of how YOUR back supports you (physically, mentally, emotionally); and

Develop the strength, flexibility and compassion that can allow you to feel truly supported.
Each week, you’ll learn principles and practices to alleviate discomfort, broaden your understanding, strengthen your back, and help prevent future issues. And every class will include some Ayurvedic wisdom to help support your winter wellness and enhance your overall well being.
